This section provides context and methodology details for the data presented:

  • **Data Scope:** This table focuses exclusively on instances where a Male athlete received money from a prize, scholarship, sponsorship or other monetary reward originally intended for female athletes.
  • **Link Verification:** The provided links are to external sources. These sources include official results directly from the event webpages, sites that aggregrate athletic results from various organizations (such as MileSplit.com), news stories, and social media posts from team and athlete accounts. Archived links (Ar.) are provided in the case that these results are removed or websites are no longer functional. Not all pages were able to be archived. When possible, archived links can most often be found in the second (2) link.
  • **Athlete Verification:** Athletes have been verified as male through the use of public sources: news articles, personal declarations from the athletes, name changes, past photos, and other public records including job history, school records, and family records. In the case of males with DSDs, athletes are included if they have previously failed a sex/gender test.
  • **Athlete Identification:** "DSD" refers to male athletes with a disorder of sexual development. These athletes are male but may have been mistaken for female at birth due to underdeveloped male genitalia. "Trans-identified" refers to male athletes who have had healthy male development but deny that they are men and boys and claim to be something else, typically "women" or "nonbinary". "Other" refers to males who do not belong in either of the former categories but participate on female teams due to rule exceptions.
  • **Sorting:** The table is sorted by **Date (newest first)** by default.
  • *Totals calculated on 10/20/2025*

Other Notes:

  • "Prize Money" may include scholarships, sponsorships, and/or salaries paid due to participation in women's sport.
  • Prize money amounts may be taken from the event information pages. In the case this is shown in the verification link, verification links for the competition results can be found on the "Total Results" page. In cases where a contest has not specified prize money awarded to specific places, information from previous or future years from the same competition will be used.
  • All currency values converted to US Dollars ($) for totals.
  • Due to the fluctuating value of the US Dollar, amounts may differ if converted at different dates.
  • 1st (of 1) and 1st of 2 Males not counted in "women robbed" total.
  • Due to the difficulty of obtaining information on scholarship amounts, professional salaries, and prize money in several sports and for many events, the total amount displayed here is a severe underestimate of the total amount stolen from female athletes by males in women's sports.
  • Harry "Hazel" Robinson-Cox particpated in the Derrimut Beach Tour which advertised a prize pool of $600 for Elite 8 games. It is not known at this time how much prize money was given to each place. Robinson-Cox has placed top 3 several times in the series.
  • "Kandy" Palepua played on a team that took first in an unspecified tournament described to have a "generous cash prize." The name of the tournament and prize amount are unknown at this time.
  • Per an ongoing NCAA lawsuit, Brayden "Blaire" Fleming received a full athletic scholarship each year he was at SJSU and the year he was at Coastal Carolina. Amount was calculated using the athletic scholarship amount listed for prior years, so the true amount may be higher due to increases in tuition.
  • The Teine Samoa Moni grass tournament appears to be organized by a "trans"-identified male, and many of the players in the women's division are male. It is not known at this time how many teams competed and how many teams had male players on them. It's possible that every "women's" team was comprised of males. If so, these prize money amounts will be removed from totals as all teams were co-ed and the division was simply mislabled as "women's".
