About

About the Site

HeCheated.org is an entirely volunteer effort that was largely inspired by SheWon.org. SheWon.org is an ever-evolving, ever-growing database of female athletes who have lost medals, podium spots, records, awards, and other athletic accomplishments and opportunities due to male participation in the female athletic division. While SheWon.org seeks to give these women and girls the recognition they deserve, HeCheated.org seeks to call out these male athletes and expose the damage that they have each caused to women and girls in sports.

The creation of HeCheated.org was necessary in addition to SheWon.org as there are many cases in which it is impossible to know who may have won a competition or an award had a male athlete not been present. Such cases include all team sports, single-elimination tournaments, and most awards.

HeCheated began in January of 2024 with a list of 50 athletes. The site was published in April of 2024.

Since then, the list has grown to over 1,000 athletes with over 20,000 documented data entries.

Methodology

Data Scope

Primary Focus

HeCheated.org tracks any and all instances of male participation in an event or competition origianlly intended for female athletes. This includes events specifically labeled "female," "women," or "girls," or events that were originally female-only but have been changed to mixed-sex to be "inclusive" of only males who declare a certain "gender identity." These are commonly labeled as "women+" or "gender inclusive" events.

Mixed Categories

Events that are mixed sex but in which there are specific limits on the number of male and female athletes per team and in which the male athlete has taken a designated "female" position, such as mixed doubles in tennis, are also included.

Level of Sport

All levels and age categories of competition are included, from grassroots to professional. Women's rights to fair sport are not contingent on the skill of any individual athlete or on their age. Rather, fairness in sport should be universial and offered to all women. Males are not "female" whether they are on an Olympic team or running a local 5k.

Non-Athletic Awards

HeCheated.org also tracks non-athletic awards and competitions including chess, acting awards, pageants, etc. These are not included in the athletic totals and can be found on a separate page. While males may not have an observable physical advantage at first glance in these events, they certainly enjoy other sex-based advantages that female individuals do not which include other social factors. Further, these awards are meant for female individuals. Each and every instance in which a male is given an award that is meant for a female human being is an instance of inequity and fraud.

Step 01

Athlete Identification

HeCheated.org seeks to catalog all males participating in the female category. A "male" individual is a human being whose body has gone down the Wolffian pathway of development towards the ability to produce small gametes as opposed to the Mullerian pathway towards the production of large gametes.

DSD

Refers to male athletes with a disorder of sexual development. These athletes are males but may have been mistaken for female at birth due to underdeveloped male genitalia and internal rather than external testes.

Trans-identified

Refers to male athletes who have had healthy male development but deny that they are men and boys and claim to be something else, typically "women" or "nonbinary."

Other

Refers to males who do not belong in either of the former categories but participate on female teams due to rule exceptions.

Step 02

Athlete Verification

Methods of Verification

All Athletes are verified as male before they are included on the website. Verification is made through the use of public sources. Often, more than one source is used.

If an athlete is openly known to be male, links are provided on the "Athletes" list. More personal proof (such as from a social media account) may not be listed. For proof of verification for a specific athlete, please contact the site.

Public Declarations

Personal declarations from the athletes, often shown in social media account bios or in blog posts.

Official Records

Job history, school records, and family records that reflect name changes.

Visual Evidence

Past photos and public media coverage of the individual.

DSD Protocols

Athletes with DSDs are included if there is public record that they have previously failed a sex/gender test.

Step 03

Result Verification
